Grove Atlantic, publisher of Vanishing World

Translated from Japanese by Ginny Tapley Takemori, Vanishing World is a surprising and highly imaginative story set in a version of Japan where sex between married couples has vanished and all children are born by artificial insemination. The New York Times calls it a blend of “speculative fiction, horror, and black comedy . . . like The Handmaid’s Tale on acid.” Perfect for fans of dark, weird fiction by authors like Agustina Bazterrica, Ottessa Moshfegh, and Sarah Rose Etter, Vanishing World is available wherever books are sold.

This week, in Yarros watch, we have zero Empyrean books that made it onto three or more of the top 10 bestselling books lists. We did prematurely declare the end of Yarrosโ€™s reign over the bestseller lists previously, but weโ€™ll be keeping an eye out and updating you on this front in weeks to come.

Meanwhile, we just have one new title in the roundup today, and itโ€™s no surprise: itโ€™s Emily Henryโ€™s newest book, Great Big Beautiful Life. Even that couldnโ€™t break into the top ten of all five bestseller lists, though. They are in disagreement this week, so we only have six titles for you this time.

To get these numbers, we look at the USA Today overall top 10; Publishers Weekly overall top 10; The New York Times top 10, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts top 10, both Fiction and Nonfiction; and Indie Bestsellers top 10, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover. New additions to the list this week are bolded.
